Leave me sweet world

I am so weathered and worn,
Aged eyes will tell you,
My mind has been chiseled,
chip by chip since the day I was born,
I am a kind gentle soul with laughter covering my face like veins,
I’ve seen better days,
and happier times,
Lying here in this hospital bed,
Death isn’t what I dread,
Its continuing on,
When I really shouldn’t,
I fear becoming forgotten.
